امروز خوندن اولین رمان انگلیسی ام رو تموم کردم.

اینجوری احساس بیهودگی و بطالتی که از خوندن روزنامه ـ مجله و اینترنت بهم دست داده بود داره کمتر میشه.

توی سایت SparkNotes اطلاعات نسبتا مفیدی راجع به کتاب نوشته شده. البته بیشتر به درد بعد از خوندن کتاب می خوره.

این تعریف رئالیسم جادویی رو بد نیست بخونید:

Magical Realism, according to the Oxford Companion to English Literature (1985:606), is a term coined by the German writer Franz Roh in 1925, to describe works of art that are realistic in style but represent imaginary or fantastic scenes. More recently, it has been applied to the works of several writers of fiction, Garcia Marquez prominent among them, as well as Gunter Grass (Germany), John Fowles (England), Italo Calvino (Italy), and several others. "Magic realist novels and stories have, typically, a strong narrative drive, in which the recognizably realistic mingles with the unexpected and the inexplicable, and in which elements of dream, fairy-story, or mythology combine with the everyday, often in a mosaic or kaleidoscopic pattern of refraction and recurrence."
